International Women's Day - Let's Celebrate Ourselves

Let's Celebrate Ourselves

And let's celebrate all the versions of a woman we've been

This morning, as I hazily made coffee and cycled through the events of the previous day, I remembered that it was International Women's Day and a day to celebrate women.

It made me think of all the different versions of a woman I've been in my life.

Somewhere, a younger version of myself would have been sitting with great pride for what I've become today and the woman that I am. We often forget to look at how far we've come and what we've achieved thus far, trading it for larger dreams as we continue our journeys.

And somewhere, an older version of myself will look back at me now with love and grace, telling me to ease my worries and that I'll make it through whatever challenges I'm currently facing, because you always do.

Time passes through us and while we evolve, there is an essential part in each version of ourselves that remains constant - our light that shines for each version of ourselves.

On this International Women's Day, let's celebrate women, and also all the versions of ourselves over the years as we've grown, learned, experienced, and evolved.

We celebrate our younger selves, who she was at the time in her circumstances, with grace and love. We celebrate ourselves today, remembering how far we've come with grace and love. And finally, we celebrate our future selves, the version we hope to become and the version that we do become, with grace and love.

Let us love and cherish the light in each of us.
